Pictometry and Blom have, in recent months, been in discussions over the license agreement between the two companies. During this difficult time of negotiation Blom has continued to serve its customers with oblique images captured with Pictometry technology.
Blom has tried hard to find a workable solution with Pictometry for the future, but unfortunately this has proven to be impossible. This process has forced the Blom Group to terminate the relationship with Pictometry.
Blom will be launching a new Blom brand to the market – BlomOBLIQUE™. The BlomOBLIQUE™ oblique libraries are supported by a full suite of desktop and web applications, BlomDESKTOP™ and BlomWEB™. BlomDESKTOP™ allows access to both offline and online libraries, and BlomWEB™ allows users to connect directly to the BlomURBEX™ geoserver.
Blom strongly believes that by offering a solution based upon Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) systems and technologies developed and controlled entirely by Blom, we will improve our service to our customers, and also provide a competitive product to the wider market.
All imagery captured by Blom using Pictometry technology is still Blom's ownership, and customers continued use of these images will not be interrupted. Furthermore, licenses issued to Pictometry software will remain in place until the original expiry date.
Blom is committed to our customers and will provide full support to assist existing clients with the integration and migration of the new technologies Blom offers.

Q: I have ordered oblique images from Blom to be captured this summer. How will this affect the capture and delivery of my data?

Q: I am using the EFS Pictometry software. How will this affect me?
A: All existing and new Blom customer have the option to access all images through BlomURBEX™ rather than through local libraries in EFS.
